Gray Whale Watching, Sea Kayaking and
Camping in Magdalena Bay
Trips Dates Available: January 15 - March 30, 2002
Length of trip: three choices of 2 Nights / 3 days,
3 Nights / 4 Days or 4 Nights / 5 Days at campsite.
Trip description: Passengers are picked up at hotels and
taken to BQ headquarters for breakfast and rentals pick
up. Transportation to Puerto San Carlos takes approximately
3.5 hours plus a 30 minute boat ride for to campsite. Passengers
make immediate use of the campsite based in the southern
part of Magdalena Island. On day one, spend the afternoon
whale watching after having lunch at campsite. The following
days are spent whale watching aboard licensed pangas, sea
kayaking in the mangrove channels and hiking across the
magnificent sand dunes. The morning of the last day of trip
is spent whale watching. Return to La Paz leaves around
2:00 PM. Checking in at hotel around 6:00 PM. Trip includes:
Hotel accommodation based on double occupancy on arrival
and departure dates. Included: Base camp and all meals provided
and cooked at campsite by staff, English speaking guide-naturalist,
sea kayaking instruction and equipment provided, whale observation
aboard licensed motored vessels called pangas, natural history
seminars will slide presentations in the evenings, round
trip ground transportation from La Paz to campsite at San
Carlos, BCS. All camping equipment is included EXCEPT sleeping
bags, pads and dry bags.
